About Me

It has been brought to my attention that someone like you might want to know what someone like me is doing, why I did it, and how I feel about it after I’m done doing it.

“People want to know about stuff like that?” I said.  “Can’t get enough of it,” they said. “What about when I’m not doing anything?” “Especially when you’re not doing anything,” they said. “What do people like me do?” “Twitter and tweet.” “I don’t twitter and I can’t bring myself to tweet,” I said.  “So write a blog.” “Can I write a blog about how much I hate twittering tweets?”  So, when inspiration strikes, when I’m compelled to express myself, or when I happen to think of something that is better shared, I’ll blog it for those who want to know.

Beats twittering a tweet.

  1. Ja, sure does beat Twitter!!

I certainly cannot see why a site like that took off in the first place, lol.

I’m afraid if I had a blog, it’d be dedicated entirely to racehorses & horse racing! Shame!

& while we are talking horses, this is also in a way from my little thoroughbred, Seamus 🙂 🙂

  3. Hi Jeff,
I enjoyed your facebook quote about real americans and driving an “RV”. I, too, drive a Flxible rv, and the lot of the other Fxible rv drivers really liked your RV movie. They appreciated the “no swearing”. You can ask Tom Saunders if I am legit. I drive a Flx Metro and do enviro. ed. from the bus. Its The Conscientious Cruiser from Ypsi.
I like the work you do…

Watching some all-important game in a sports bar on 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica some 20 years ago, I looked to my right and there you were sitting next to me watching the game as well. Didn’t want to bug you as you looked like you were wholly enjoying a moment of anonymity. I can’t recall one second of the game, but I do remember thinking “what’s a brainy guy like Jeff Daniels think about?”

Plus, seeing a fellow Michigander in a vast place like LA was somewhat comforting.

Hope you do blog from time to time…it’d be kinda cool.

Good idea. Your name came up last week at the Robert Benchley Society Meeting in Boston. We were discussing humor and werer decrying the lack of people with depth in their humor background. We are looking for a judge for next years Benchley Writing contest. Would you be interested? Dave Barry and Bob Newhart have already been judges.

I don’t twitter or tweet either. If someone is doing something worth while or meaningful to help or inspire, then they should wright about it. I don’t care when someone has to go to the store to get a gallon of milk.

  10. Ok Jeff, Sounds Fair, and i can respect your Honesty.Thats whats nice about my Peoples..”They can express anything They Want! Sincerely, Stormin

I think its wonderful that a person we look up to takes the time to be a real person and look back. You come across always as genuin. No fakes no put on’s. It’s comforting to hear thoughts in the between times that tell everyone we are not so off the mark. In quiet moments many of us share the same worries, fears, hopes and dreams.
And maybe makes others feels better for just a minute to hear yours and forget about their own. Your just that kind of person and that special quality of yours come thru in your movies, speaking and especially your music. So of course we would also like to know your feelings. Creator Bless
